Hello! My name is Melissa Xiao and I am a grade 11 IB student at Western Canada High School. When I first realized that math could be found in almost everything in our lives, from reality TV shows to origami, I began to love mathematics. Math is so much more than what we learn at school. It's not just worksheets and formulas, but rather a way of understanding the world we live in. I hope these classes will make you more interested in math while also having fun. I look forward to meeting all of you soon!

Hi guys my name is Renee and I’m a grade 11 Western Canada student in the IB Program. I believe that math is something that everyone learns and comes to terms with, even if it isn’t one of their best subjects. Though I may not be amazing at math, I feel that there is an element of exploration and interest in the subject.  My part in teaching these classes is to help you realize that math isn’t some boring monster you’re forced to do, but something that you find fun and explore in your own time!  Hello! My name is Edward Xue, and I’m a grade 9 student at Louis Riel School. Ever since I was first introduced to mathematics, I’ve been fascinated by its capability to make the impossible possible. I’ve also learned to appreciate how mathematics brings together people, their curiosity with creativity, and the abstract with reality. Mathematics isn’t just about numbers and symbols; It’s also about ideas, concepts, and traversing their intricacies to pick up valuable insights. I hope that my passion for mathematics will carry on to you!

  Hello, my name is Jack Nie and I am currently a grade 9 student enrolled at Louis Riel in the GATE program. I am very enthusiastic about math, and have attended many classes and camps for it, as well as having participated in several math competitions. Although math is my passion, I also realize that it isn’t everyone’s. What I wish to show you all is that math is more than just what is mandated in the curriculum; its applications can be found all around. I hope to see you soon!
